Description
Removing a buffer tube or cable jacket without nicking the fibers inside takes a tool designed for the job. This fiber optic buffer tube and jacket stripper gives you precise, adjustable control over every cut, helping you access fibers quickly and safely during termination, splicing and repair work.
The stripper uses three straight blades and one arc blade, so you can make a clean ring cut around the cable or a lengthwise slit along it, depending on the task. It handles cable and tube diameters from 0 to 3.2mm, covering loose tube buffer tubes, indoor bundle cable sheaths and CATV micro coaxial cable.
The blade depth is adjustable, letting you set the cut to go through the jacket or tube wall without reaching the fibers or conductors underneath. This is especially important on loose tube cable, where a nicked fiber can mean a failed splice or a costly re-termination.
Built from durable metal with an ergonomic grip, the tool is comfortable to use for repetitive stripping and weighs only 45g, so it fits easily in a pocket or tool pouch.
